Triac
In the Blue Room
CD FF007
|
"There is certainly no shortage of bands operating in this idiom, but Triac rise above the weakness. Taking the full-bore grind of Pig Destroyer or Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Triac brings in more thrash, detuned slow-motion heaviness, and evil math rock. Their sound is thick with abrasive complexity and non-linear in construct, employing blindingly fast chord permutations or smothering repetition, often within the same song. Songs like this just won't work without killer drumming and they definitely have a monster drummer. While grind purists may find these deviations from straight-ahead grind tempos a little too "rock," those who appreciate a well-executed amalgam of aggressive styles will find this delivers the goods while avoiding sounding forced."
