In the storm of current metal bands, INTER ARMA stands firmly as a monolith of esoteric dirge. Hailing from Virginia, their time-honored sound runs parallel to their surroundings. Murky depths ascend to towering peaks and obscure turns are never far.\u00a0 The blackened howl this unique five-piece exudes has resonated across dingy basement walls for the past four years.\u00a0 Now, with the release of their first full length LP, Sundown, INTER ARMA’s epic vision will be brought to the forefront.<\/p>\n

Founded in 2006 by members from various points in Virginia, INTER ARMA converged onto the Richmond music scene in a barrage of sight and sound. Charged with a colossal presence and armed with an impressive array of songs, the young group quickly began crafting their outlandish style. As a result of playing countless shows, INTER ARMA have attained a firm grasp on their frenetic sound while maintaining a heavy emphasis on dual guitars, intricate bass and dire vocals.<\/p>\n

Highlighted by the completion of several successful tours and the release of an incredible split 7″ with fellow Richmond band, BATTLEMASTER, 2009 was a banner year. INTER ARMA gained dynamic momentum that has carried them through to their most recent recording, Sundown. Recorded over the course of three days at the Mystic Fortress analog studio; Sundown captures the band’s raw, aesthetic sound while simultaneously encompassing their relentless spirit.<\/p>\n

Defying genres and crossing boundaries, Sundown, is the sonic achievement of INTER ARMA’s burgeoning career.\u00a0 Their debut full length showcases the band’s dim song writing and furious nature. Steeped in heaviness, this album is an enthralling experience. Not just a collection of random songs, Sundown demands to be heard in it’s entirety.<\/p>\n
