Alright with it now being December we want to put all these delays behind us.  We are extremely sorry for all the mix ups with release dates.

RECORD STORES – I know it took forever but both the CASTEVET and BALACLAVA records are finally both available through our distributors REVOLVER USA and EBULLITION.  If your looking for any of the winter releases going up for pre-order now in you store by the Holidays that might be possible if you’d like to order direct from us, just shoot us an e-mail at forcefieldrecords.wholesale@gmail.com.  No promises on if we will be able to swing it though.

NEW RELEASES –

I have put the WINDHAND “s/t” LP up for pre-order now since that was supposed to be out forever ago.  The limited purple vinyl is going quick and the web-store or seeing the band live will be your only opportunity to grab it.  The MUTILATION RITES MLP and the COFFINS / SOURVEIN split 7″ will go up for pre-order December 9th.  All three new records should be done within a month give or take.  Both the WINDHAND and MUTILATION RITES records are in full production.  The COFFINS / SOURVEIN split has had the tests approved and we submitted the art into production today.  The “release” date for the MUTILATION RITES MLP and the COFFINS / SOURVEIN split 7″ will be Feburary 7th.  Any pre-orders via the web-store will ship in January.  The WINDHAND “s/t” CD has been delayed till the Spring.  This will now be a split release with UK’s Mordgrimm Records which should help all the UK/Euro heads.  Cheers!

PRE-ORDER THE WINDHAND RECORD!

Been a long time coming but we are proud to announce the end is finally in sight for the 12″ LP of CASTEVET’s amazing 2010 debut full length “Mounds of Ash”.  The official release date will be August 30th.  We will be putting the record up for pre-sale in our web-store July 30th.  The packaging is done and the vinyl should be just two to three more weeks.  We have a few photos of the packaging up on our facebook.  Trust me when I say we didn’t skimp on this one and it came out looking KILLER!

BALACLAVA’s debut full length 12″ LP entitled “Crimes of Faith” will be out August 30th.  We are proud to be splitting the project with our good friends at Cosmic Debris (Chicago / NoVA).  The CD and Digital formats will be handled by the one and only Southern Lord and should be out sometime in August as well.  Balaclava has an un-mastered clip of the track “This City” up on their myspace.  This record will be available for pre-order July 30th as well.  The jackets just now went into production but the vinyl has been at the plant for a couple weeks now.  We got some real cool plans for the packaging on this one as well.  We’ll have more details on that once they are confirmed.

The two newest additions to the Forcefield family are Richmond, VA’s WINDHAND and Brooklyn, NY’s MUTILATION RITES!  I have had the privilege to know members in both these bands for quite some time and couldn’t be happier to work with both of them.

WINDHAND just recently finished recording and mixing their debut S/T full length at the Dark Room in Richmond, VA by guitarist Garrett Morris (Bastard Sapling, Parasytic).  The record will be mastered the week of July 25th at Slipped Disk Audio with Bill McElroy (Pentagram, Avail, Alabama Thunder Pussy).  Shooting to have this into production by early August.  Release date September 27th.

MUTILATION RITES are currently out on the road with Brooklyn doomers BATILLUS which will hit parts of the Mid-West and North-East.  Once they return home from tour they head straight back into the studio with Kevin Bernsten (Magrudergrind, Pulling Teeth) at Developing Nations Recording Studio in Baltimore, MD.  This will be the second recording stint with Kevin for the upcoming MLP.  In addition to tracking a couple extra songs the band plans to re-do some bass lines as well as some vocals.  Part of the reason I came about this project was hearing what was laid down in that first weekend.  So if they build on anything they did in that first session with these four additional days consider me floored.  We hope to have this record to a mastering engineer about the time WINDHAND’s record goes into production.  Estimated release date on this one, October 25th.

the COFFINS / SOURVEIN split 7″ is still happening!  It should actually go into production around the same time as the WINDHAND record.  I will post an update on that record once I get the final artwork.  I kinda started to take a non rush approach on it since SOURVEIN just released their new LP “Black Fangs”.  I wanted to let that release marinate a little before I went ahead with the split.  This will be out by October 25th AT THE LATEST.  Within the next week or two I will post up a firm release date.

Been forever since the last update.  Since the last update a lot has been going on.

First off we are sold out of the second pressing of the COUGH “Sigillum Luciferi” DLP.  A few distributors still have copies available.  Most of our main distributors should have some which include REVOLVER USA / MIDHAVEN MAILORDER, ALL THAT’S HEAVY, EBULLITION, and ROBOTIC EMPIRE.  A few others that recently picked some up before we sold out were psycheDOOMelic (Europe), Squirrell Gripp Records (Australia), Doooomed.com, and Crucial Blast Records.  I would assume a few other labels might have some in stock.  We will be putting up a few dinged DLPs we have left for a reduced price in our web-store.  We are also in the kicking the tires of re-pressing this as well as another run of the CD, since both are sold out.

We also recently completely sold out of the COUGH / THE WOUNDED KINGS “An Introduction to the Black Arts” LP on GREEN, No distributors got these records so they are completely gone.  Squirrel Grip Records is the only company that has multiple copies of the green version of this LP.  We still have a good amount of the LP on black.

VERY EXCITED TO GET TO THE NEW STUFF!!

First out will be the OBLITERATION‘s sophomore LP “Nekropsalms”.  It never got the attention and distribution it deserved state-side so we decided to fucking press it ourselves.  A perfect mix of old and new death metal while mixing slight elements of thrash, doom, and black metal.  This album rips from start to finish.  We totally stepped up the packaging on this sucker and should hopefully have some pictures and shipping dates in the very near future.

Following the OBLITERATION LP we are still working on the COFFINS / SOURVEIN split 7″.  We have hit a slight snag with artwork but will have the lacquers done this week.  Slow and steady but don’t fret because it is definitely coming along.  Along with the split 7″ we will also have another set of lacquers by week’s end.  Proud to announce we will be releasing CASTEVET‘s “Mounds of Ash” on LP.  Their PROFOUND LORE debut blew me away when I first heard it.  It was one of the most unique heavy albums of 2010 hands down.  A mix of black metal with noise-rock and even passages that seem to teeter the line of post-hardcore.  A beautifully crafted and odd black metal record.  Easy top ten album of 2010 personally.  (A few agree, here)

We are extremely excited about all of this as well as a few other things currently on the back-burner for summer and fall!  Thanks for all the support and check back soon for another update.  I promise it will be in a matter of days or weeks not months like last time!!
